Our Burial Site
Chapel View Green Field Burial Ground
Rowley, Castleside, County Durham
We have the use of a green burial site located in Rowley at Castleside, which has its own chapel. It is a peaceful and tranquil place, with lovely views across the valleys in Derwentside, and is home to a number of different species of birds and other wildlife — including butterflies, foxes, rabbits, badgers, hares, and the occasional deer.
The Chapel View Green Field Burial Ground was fully consecrated by Reverend K Hopper in 2014 according to the rites and traditions of the Church. This means we can offer burials for all religions, and non-religious people.

Getting There
By Car
The site is easily accessible by car, located in the heart of the countryside on Miller's Hill Lane, just off the A68.
By Bus
The site is served by a rural bus service with a scheduled stopping point at Chapel View. This service leaves from Consett Bus Station, with regular routes from Durham, Newcastle, Hexham and Weardale.
